The story is set during the Clone Wars, following the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Chosen One and the Trials of War series, and will showcase the beginning of the end of the Galactic Republic and the coming of the Galactic Empire, which will come to power in Star Wars: Episode III. The character of Annikin Skywalker will also be forced to choose between what he wants or what fate demands of him.
Summary[]
Author Brandon Rhea has described Dawn of an Empire as "a war novel all the way through."[1] Parts of the novel will take place on Dantooine and Taris.[2] One of the central elements of the story will be Annikin Skywalker having to choose between fulfilling his destiny and doing what he wants to accomplish in his life. The Order of Veritas will also be portrayed. The novel will also deal with tyranny corrupting the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, and that tyranny will ultimately lead to the rise of the Galactic Empire in Star Wars: Episode III. According to Rhea, the ending of the novel will "come as a total surprise."[3]
