The Radiant VII was a Galactic Republic Consular-class space cruiser that served as an ambassadorial transport vessel. Commanded by Captain Maoi Madakor and piloted by Lieutenant Antidar Williams, the vessel was destroyed in 22 BBY after transporting Jedi ambassadors Jard Dooku and Obi-Wan Kenobi to Utapau in the hopes or resolving the Trade Federation’s blockade of the planet.
History[]
Sometime after it was commissioned, the Radiant VII became an ambassadorial transport vessel and was given diplomatic immunity by the Galactic Senate. It was placed under the command of Captain Maoi Madakor, and she chose Lieutenant Antidar Williams to be her pilot after they served together during the Yinchorri Uprising. In 22 BBY, the Galactic Republic passed a law banning the use of slave workers by Republic corporations outside of Republic territories. The Trade Federation, which relied on slave workers in the Outer Rim, was outraged by the act and blockaded Utapau, which was a principal supporter of the slave law.[1]
One month into the blockade, the Radiant VII was selected to transport Jedi ambassadors Jard Dooku and Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Federation command ship orbiting Utapau where the Jedi would negotiate with the Federation. The Jedi, however, were targeted for assassination, and the Federation destroyed the Radiant VII in an attempt to prevent the Jedi from escaping.[1]
Design[]
In order to prevent potential enemies from firing on it, the Radiant VII was painted red so it would be recognized that it carried diplomatic immunity from the Galactic Senate, although that sometimes did not stop enemy combatants from attacking it. The ship was described as being comparatively small, and it was unable to fit many people unlike other cruisers of diplomatic importance. This was because many of the crew members were droids that did not require living facilities.[1]

The Radiant VII was commanded by Captain Maoi Madakor, and it was piloted by Lieutenant Antidar Williams. Some of the ship was attended to by droid crew members, although sentients also made up part of the crew. Many droids and half of the sentient crew also served as guards, presumably for when diplomats were onboard. The crew as of 22 BBY was killed when the Trade Federation destroyed the vessel.[1]
