Owen Lars was a Human male moisture farmer on Tatooine. He was the son of Cliegg Lars and Aika Lars, who died when he was young, and the adoptive older brother of Michael Lars. He often came across as arrogant in his strong mistrust of outsiders who thought they knew how to run his life better than he did. His personal life also led him to develop a trust of non-outsiders as well, making him a generally mistrusting person.[1]
Despite his flaws, Lars was family-oriented, even though he did have frequent disagreements with Michael. He believed in the importance of family and was willing to do anything to protect them, stemming from the death of his mother. His family loyalties also led him to harbor a dangerous secret.[1]
